STAY IN TOUCH

FINDING CONNECTIONS DURING THE PANDEMIC

OVERVIEW:

Stay in Touch is a case study that stemmed from the lack of human connection during the COVID-19 pandemic. While many could not be in the same space, I explored the idea of meaningful time spent together. The app supplements a unique dining experience in major cities that connects loved ones. It allows them to choose their locations, room types, and menu options.

PROBLEM:

People are losing quality time spent with loved ones due to the COVID-19 pandemic. How might we bring back one of life's simple pleasures?

GOAL:

Design an app for a unique dining experience that allows consumers to book a time and space across cities. Provide an educational portion that links cultures.

USER PERSONA

OVERVIEW

Leela is a 72 yr old grandma that lives in India! She doesn't have many opportunities to see her kids and grandkids who live in California. She struggles to have them sit on the phone during the early mornings or late nights. She wants to find a way to reconnect with her loved ones across the world!

FRUSTRATIONS

  • “When is a good time to contact my family across the world?”

  • “How can I talk to them for longer than 30 minutes”

  • “I would love to share my culture with my grandkids but I never see them”

USER RESEARCH PAIN POINTS

PRESENCE

During COVID-19, adults are far and wide from their loved ones. Quality time spent together has minimized over geography. How might we bring back that feeling of presence?

SAFETY

The concerns and health risks due to the pandemic has posed fewer interactions. How might we initiate health and safety prrotocols?

TIME

Users have issues coordinating times to have uninterrupted interactions, especially across time-zones. How might we make that scheduling simpler?
